Did you know that over 25% of Americans have tried CBD? Not surprisingly, 1 out of 7 continue to use CBD on a daily basis. Ater all, the best CBD oil for women (and their beloved pets) is a product that extracts everything good from the Cannabis sativa plant (industrial hemp), minus the psychoactive component, and puts it in a small bottle.
With so many herbal dietary supplements and alternative medicine ingredients available on the market, it can be difficult to figure out which one would be more helpful for common issues like stress, inflammation, anxiety, sleep, menopause, headaches, cramps, and others.
The good news is CBD is easy to consume and can be highly bio-available.
The oil is placed under the tongue (sublingually) for absorption directly into the bloodstream (and then swallowed). This delivery method avoids the digestion system which can cause the CBD to be more available to the body (bio-available).
Not only that, but the dosage of CBD oil can also be easily adjusted for your personal needs, which will more than likely change over time.

However, although the seeds from the Cannabis plant don't contain any CBD (or THC) they do contain valuable essential fatty acids.
One of the benefits of hemp seed oil is it's rich in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Both of these types of fatty acids must be consumed through food.

Once you find a product you love, it's nice to be able to buy it in larger bottles. You can get this CBD product in 5, 15 and 30 ml bottles.
The way they encourage harmony is by using every aspect of the hemp plant, which is called full-spectrum CBD. That means you get the 'full entourage effect' of multiple terpenes and compounds.
As we mentioned in other reviews, many people don't care for the taste of plain hemp oil. Kat's Naturals has taken care of that by adding a flavor that is liked by most people--peppermint.
The peppermint is good because it can help promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing. It also promotes digestive health when taken internally.

- Organic American grown hemp, organic MCT Oil (Medium-Chain Triglyceride), and sustainably-sourced organic peppermint essential oil

(It should be noted there is a small amount of THC in this product. It's so low, you probably wouldn't feel any effect. However, if you are concerned about drug testing or don't want any THC, then this won't be the product for you.)
Finally, the carrier oil in this product is coconut oil. Coconut is fat that actually helps burn excess fat in both and provides your body and brain with quick energy.

5. Green Label (Raw) Proprietary Hemp
Click on image for more information
The last product in our review is a unique way to consume CBD--in its raw state. We are featuring Green Label (Raw) Proprietary Hemp Extract.
Unlike the other options in our review, this hemp extract comes in a paste form. That's because the CBD is extracted from the plant without significant processing. For those who prefer the most natural product possible, including whole-plant phytonutrients, this product is for you.
Actually, the benefit of raw CBD such as the Green Label is it also contains CBDa.
CBDa (cannabidiolic acid) is the pre-cursor to common CBD when heat is applied and more challenging to find since most growers focus on the CBD-only market.
It's believed it could be especially effective with arthritis, anxiety, bacterial infection, cancer, inflammation, nausea and vomiting, pain, and seizures.
The other thing you'll want to know is because of its raw state, the paste itself can have a strong, earthy taste. If that's the case, the company suggests mixing it with a little oil or honey before putting it under your tongue.
The Green oil is a 10% concentration, with 3 mg CBD/CBDa per grain-of-rice suggested serving.
This proprietary hemp extract is manufactured under strict quality controls in an FDA-registered cGMP (FDA Current Good Manufacturing Procedures) certified laboratory.
An independent lab tests each batch using high-tech liquid gas chromatography for verification of purity and concentration of CBD (cannabidiol).
Additional tests for yeast, molds, E. coli, coliforms, and total aerobic count are also performed for each batch.
CBD FOR WOMEN BUYER'S GUIDE
There are many things that can affect the quality of CBD oil tinctures. The best CBD oil for women may not always be the most potent or the best-tasting product. There are a few general guidelines to follow regarding the production of CBD oil from plantation to hitting the shelves in stores.
Some methods of extracting CBD oil are superior to others, and it’s important to keep them in mind if your main concern is quality and efficiency. However, there are also alternate factors that some may want to consider, such as taste and pricing.
You can gauge the general quality of a CBD oil tincture by following the manufacturing process. But whether the product will also be appealing to you is another matter. Keep reading to find out why.
Source of the Hemp
If you want a good product, it all starts at the source.
CBD oil is made from hemp as hemp yields high concentrations of CBD, as opposed to the marijuana plant in which THC is the dominant cannabinoid.
With that out of the way, here’s how you can find the best CBD oil for women based on the tincture’s source.
Although industrial hemp sounds like a hardy type of crop, it doesn’t mean that the plant can’t be grown under optimum conditions. Always look for indications that the hemp is not grown wild but rather in a controlled environment.
Manufacturers tend to specify if they’re using homegrown or imported hemp.
They also tend to specify if the hemp is food-grade, if it’s been artificially enhanced in any way, and so on.
Since hemp is a plant that can easily absorb contaminants, it’s important to find a source that hasn’t been exposed to soluble metals and other chemicals.
After you’re sure that the source of the hemp is legitimate, you can then move onto comparing other factors regarding the manufacturing and efficiency of the CBD oil before reaching an informed decision.
CBD Oil Extraction Methods
There are four CBD extraction methods used to derive CBD oil from industrial hemp. Some are more preferred than others because of the final product quality.
However, not all manufacturers use the same high-end methods due to the higher associated costs.
Here are the four CBD extraction methods:
By far the most preferred extraction method, at least for CBD oil users, is CO2 extraction.
This method yields the highest CBD concentration and doesn’t leave chlorophyll and other toxic residues in the end product.
However, it is slow and therefore quite expensive to manufacture, which is why CO2 extracted CBD oil tends to be pricey.
Steam distillation is an inexpensive procedure.
While it results in untainted CBD isolate, there’s a matter of concentration consistency that raises cause for concern.
On top of that, the quality of the oil may be deteriorated because of its exposure to high temperatures.
Hydrocarbon Solvent Extraction
Hydrocarbon solvent extraction is almost as pure as CO2 extraction. It’s also cheaper to manufacture.
That being said, finding solvent residue in the end product is not uncommon after using hydrocarbon solvent extraction to make CBD oil.
Natural Solvent Extraction
The final method is used quite often by some manufacturers.
It is very cheap and won’t leave room for any toxic residue to make its way into the final product.
However, this too has a slight disadvantage when compared to CO2 extraction.
The CBD concentration after natural solvent extraction is lower compared to any other method. Therefore, larger quantities of industrial hemp must be used.
Choosing between two or more products based on extraction methods is very important. If you’re always aiming for top quality, then spending a few extra bucks will be inevitable.
Strength and Forms of CBD Oil
CBD oil comes in two forms: oil tincture and food-grade capsules. The difference between the two delivery methods is quite significant.
If you’re looking for CBD oil that has an almost immediate effect, then the best CBD oil for women would be an oil tincture because they can be applied sublingually (under the tongue) and as a result, the effects could be felt in minutes.
CBD oil capsules are also worth considering if you’re not looking for immediate effects but rather consistent doses that you can take as a long-term treatment option, such as someone that’s managing seizures or chronic pain.
Capsules tend to be more consistent in dosage but may take up to two hours before the CBD compound is processed through the stomach, released, and absorbed into the body.
When it comes to concentration, manufacturers usually express it either in mg, though you have to take the volume into account to arrive at the concentration.
You’ll often see CBD oil tinctures labeled 500mg, 1,000mg, 2,000mg, etc. and that’s the mass of CBD contained in the bottle.
For example, an 8 oz. tincture can come in 500mg or 1,000mg mass of CBD.
But if the former comes in a 1 oz. bottle and the latter comes in a 2 oz. bottle, the volumetric concentration is actually the same, since 500mg/1 oz. is equivalent to 1,000mg/2 oz.
So, forget the concentration. You only have to know how much CBD you’re taking per day. For example, you may be taking one dropper that contains 30mg of CBD per day.
CBD oils that don’t have too many ingredients mixed in and tend to have a very particular taste. It can be described as grassy or earthy or a bit of both.
A highly concentrated oil can also have a hint of nuttiness. That’s because some of the proteins in CBD oils are similar in structure to the proteins in some nuts.
It’s safe to say that CBD oil is an acquired taste.
But, not all CBD oils are made just from hemp. Sometimes CBD can be found in olive oil or MCT oil (coconut extract.) In some cases, manufacturers add other plant and fruit extracts to make the oil more palatable.
Therefore, if you don't like the natural taste, and you want to gain the benefits of CBD, then you'll want to focus in on a flavored product.
What is CBD oil?
Contrary to popular belief, CBD oil is not a liquid extract of marijuana. CBD oil is from the cannabis plant that has cannabinoids in its composition.
CBD oil can also contain more than 0.03% THC, the psychoactive component of the cannabis plant.
However, to get a CBD product with more than 0.03% THC, it must be sold in a state that allows for legal sales of THC products.
CBD is currently treated as a dietary supplement by the US Food and Drug Administration.
As a result, there are labels and other requirements required by the FDA.
However, the FDA does not approve of the use or any CBD oil itself.
How do you use CBD oil?
Using CBD oil properly can be a tad difficult sometimes.
Each person is different and each person's endocannabinoid system is not the same as another's.
Unlike the CBD-based drug called Epidiolex, which is prescription-based and comes with doctor-recommended doses, using CBD oils is a matter of personal experimentation. You typically want to start with the smallest doses, see how your body reacts and adjust accordingly.
Stick to what the manufacturers recommend for their particular formula and then slightly lower or increase the dosage depending on how well you think the oil is working.
The other point to be aware of is there is often more than CBD in a product. There are other naturally occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids that are often added to provide holistic or targeted effects.
This is known as the 'entourage effect' because you get all the goodies from the plant that are believed to have their own medicinal properties.
On the other hand, if you suffer from allergies, you'll want to pay more attention to what is included in your CBD oil/product.
We also suggest using a dosage calculator that is personalized for your body and the type of ailment you are trying to target.
How do you take CBD oil?
CBD oil can be taken in a number of ways.
The oil can be ingested placed under the tongue for rapid absorption as an oil or tincture.
It’s also ok to mix CBD oil or powder in food or drinks if that makes it more palatable.
You can also take a capsule filled with CBD powder.
It’s also possible to apply CBD oil topically, although that might not always facilitate a fast absorption rate. CBD products can be used topically, but those products usually come in the form of topical creams rather than oil and tinctures.
How long does it take for CBD oil to work?
Very few supplements take immediate effect. The same thing applies to CBD oil, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours before it starts working.
A lot of it has to do with how much CBD you’re taking in milligrams and what type of symptoms you’re trying to manage.
The delivery method is another key aspect that can dictate how long it takes before you feel anything good happening.
Generally speaking, the sublingual application of CBD can facilitate a fast absorption rate. Some oils may be absorbed into your system in up to 20 minutes if you use this method. Ingestion of oil directly or taking it in capsule form may delay the absorption process to a couple of hours.
It’s also worth mentioning that vaping may have similarly quick results to sublingual application. However, it’s not as efficient as the effect is unlikely to last nearly as long.
Each product in our review is of high quality and you can't go wrong with any of them. Often, which best CBD oil for women depends on your specific needs and preferences.
Assuming most people would like a flavoring that covers up the taste of the CBD, the final winner is Kat's Naturals Balance CBD Hemp Oil.
We love that there's a peppermint essential oil added to the product. Not only does the peppermint make it easier to take the CBD it also has properties that help respiration and digestion in your body.
Although there's a small amount of THC in the product, it will not give you a high feeling. However, it may affect drug testing results.
The second runner-up is Lazarus Naturals French Vanilla Mocha CBD Oil. It provides additional flavoring without any THC to be concerned about.
